...new horizons in dentistry dawns for Hartlepool

March 28, 2011 - PRLog -- A new era in dentistry commenced in Hartlepool today after the official opening of a significant extension and refurbishment of Elliott McCarthy Dental Care.
Over 75 invited patients celebrated with owners and staff to mark the completion of an investment programme which cost in excess of £1/2 million and took over a year to build.
The building works saw a major extension to the practices well established premises and has increased the number of dental suites to six, with four now being fully operational and featuring the latest hi-tech dental equipment and even T.V’s position above the dental chairs so that patients can watch their favourite programmes and even DVD’s for longer treatments. In addition two brand new ‘boutique’ style patient waiting areas featuring bespoke furniture and plasma screen T.V’s, two new ‘Central Sterilization Units’ ensuring the highest standards of equipment hygiene have been completed, along with a patient consultation room. Meanwhile a fully specified beauty room complete with shower facilities and a further separate consultation room have been provided and it is intended that these will be available to rent by beauty and medical professionals who wish to avail themselves of this unique facility within the area.
Helen Elliott, a principal dentist and partner of the business, who resides in Hartlepool commented “this is not only a culmination of a vision for Elliott McCarthy which we have had for years but it also marks the introduction of ‘boutique’ style dentistry for Hartlepool. All of our patients, be they Private or NHS can now benefit from greatly enhanced waiting areas and facilities which have been furnished to the highest specification to create a superb patient experience”
Pauline McCarthy, also principal dentist and partner added “with a build time exceeding over twelve months we have had to balance the continued day to day operations of our business in the adjacent building with the inevitable disruption but we very much thank the professionalism and consideration shown by our patients, staff and contractors...hopefully they will all agree it has been worth it and that these new facilities compliment the well known benefits of our practice including evening and weekend opening times and free adjacent car parking”.
The main contractor for the builder was Hartlepool based Alan Jackson builders whilst a number of other local sub contractors were used.
