Brunswick Old Fashioned Days Seeks Local Bands and Musical Acts for 2011 Festival

April 1, 2011 - PRLog -- The Brunswick Old Fashioned Days Committee is currently seeking bands and musical entertainment for the 2011 annual Old Fashioned Days festival June 22 – 26, 2011.

Previous bands have included Mr. Speed, a Kiss tribute band, Exile and Jo Dee Messina both nationally known country stars. Although the first Old Fashioned Days festival did not include any musical entertainment, the festival has grown and extended its reach to include several types of music and musical performances for both young and older audiences.

Two stages will be reserved for musical entertainment, which will allow festival-goers to hear more than one type of music simultaneously. The main stage will be located near the east end of the carnival midway, and the second stage located near the north festival gate. Band members must be able to really entertain and engage a crowd, to involve the audience in the performance as well as play music. All genres of music are encouraged to vie for a slot to perform at this year’s festival. There are currently nine slots to fill. Any band who is interested in performing at the 2011 Brunswick Old Fashioned Days festival, must provide a live performance review at a scheduled venue or make arrangements with the Old Fashioned Days committee. Musicians are also required to provide their own sound system.

The Brunswick Old Fashioned Days festival attracts people of all ages from Brunswick, Medina, Strongsville, and surrounding areas every year. The festival attracts approximately 20,000 people annually. All festival events with exception of the annual parade on Sunday, June 26, are held behind the Brunswick High School and Towslee Elementary School located on Center Road/SR 303 in Brunswick, Ohio.

Old Fashioned Days (OFD) is the largest annual event held in Brunswick, Ohio. Old Fashioned Days is a Not-For-Profit community organization and is not affiliated with any city or municipality, but is staffed entirely by volunteers from the Brunswick area.
