By: Aurion Learning HSELanD.ie is the Irish Health Service Executive’s (HSE) online learning and development portal. It’s available to 95,000 employees (including managers and trainers) and includes: 1.over 50 e-learning programmes; 2.collaborative learning hubs that use web 2.0 technology (wikis, blogs, social networking, online communities and forums) to facilitate social learning and knowledge sharing; 3.online libraries, reports, publications, e-videos and links to websites; and 4.eportfolio, competency assessment tools, and personal development planning tools. The Education e-Government Award is awarded to the organisation which has succeeded in harnessing ICT to deliver better services, information and efficiencies to its target audience (both internal and external). Key factors include innovation, enhanced customer service, an increase in efficiencies, access to local information or resource savings, simplicity or ease of use and problem solving. Remarking on HSELanD.ie at the eGovernment awards ceremony, judges said that the project was truly impressive in its scope and relevance, especially in an environment where health care staff needed accurate information and knowledge that was always available. Speaking about the awards, Dr. Maureen Murphy, Managing Director of Aurion Learning said: “We are truly delighted that HSELanD.ie has been recognised by this prestigious award. The Irish e-Government Awards is the most important public sector technology competition in Ireland, celebrating the excellence in Irish eGovernment services and standards. It is available to all healthcare professionals in the Republic of Ireland, both within HSE, Voluntary Hospital Sector, and associated NGO's working in health or allied disciplines.
