NWBA, ABC Home Medical Crown six new National Basketball Champions

The National Wheelchair Basketball Association’s 2011 National Championship Tournament concluded on Sunday, April 10 as teams from six divisions won National Championships after four days of intense competition.
 
April 10, 2011 - PRLog -- DENVER: The National Wheelchair Basketball Association’s (NWBA) 63rd annual National Championship Tournament concluded on Sunday, April 10 as teams from six divisions won National Championships after four days of intense competition. More than 700 of the best male and female athletes with physical disabilities from all over North America traveled to Colorado to compete in the six 2011 NWBA Division Championships.

Championship Game Results:

Championship Division (Adult): Dallas Rolling Mavericks 78, Orlando Magicwheels 64
The Dallas Rolling Mavericks successfully defended their 2010 NWBA Championship with a convincing win over Orlando behind 39 points from guard Jason Nelms. Dallas led 44-42 at halftime, but took complete charge in the second half with several runs Orlando could not answer as the Mavericks repeat as NWBA Champs.

Women's Division (Adult): Denver Women's Rolling Nuggets 44, Dallas Women's Rolling Mavericks 43
In a tight game where neither team never led by more than five points, Denver scored the final four points in the last minute, including a dramatic shot from 15-feet with :05 left by Patty Cisneros to claim the first ever NWBA Women's Division title for Denver with a 44-43 win over Dallas.

Division III (Adult): Las Vegas  Bandits 57, Austin Rec'ers 40
Behind a stifling full court press, a devastating fast break and 23 points from Nathan Peitz, Las Vegas knocked off the top seed Austin 57-40. Las Vegas' intense defense carried them to an undefeated tournament record in the double-elimination bracket.

Varsity Division (High School): Nebraska Red Dawgs 63, Bennett Blazers 60
Nebraska capped a fantastic tournament run with a 63-60 overtime win over Bennett. Nebraska's run included a last-second win over three-time defending champion Courage Center en route to the championship. Dylan Fishback and Jacob Busch combined for 47 point in the final.

Junior National Invitational Division (Junior High High School): Dallas Junior Mavericks 52, Denver Junior Nuggets 19
The Dallas Junior Mavericks ended a dominant tournament with a convincing 52-19 win over Denver that showcased the Mavericks' stifling defense that carried them to the title. Tim Nagel, Nick Garcia and Mark Ramirez each scored in double figures and Adonis Hartsfield grabbed 20 rebounds in the finals.

Prep Division (ages 8-12): Dallas Junior Mavericks 46, Grand Rapids Junior Pacers 32
In the tournament's youngest division, Dallas won its second title as the Junior Mavericks breezed to a 46-32 win behind Tyler Buysse's 28 points and defense that held Grand Rapids to six first half point.
