SD Flash Soccer Club to Honor Indoor Champions; San Diego Sockers at Home Match vs San Diego Boca

April 11, 2011 - PRLog -- The SD Flash Soccer Club and San Diego Boca of the National Premier Soccer League (NPSL) are heading into a showdown for 1st place in their third matches of the young 2011 season.

Both teams are coming off wins in their second matches in week 2 and each are 2 - 0 atop the Southwest Conference of the NPSL. The SD Flash are slightly ahead on goal differential. http://www.nationalpremiersoccerleague.com/schedules/2011/35503834.html

The SD Flash won vs FC Hasentah 3 - 1 in week one. This past Saturday they won at Hollywood United; also by a score of 3 - 1. Both were come-from-behind wins.

San Diego Boca got by San Jose 2 - 1 on an 89th minute goal and defeated FC Hasental 1 - 0 with a Penalty Kick goal.

Warren Barton; Head Coach of the SD Flash said "A big number of soccer fans have been anticipating this match-up since we joined the NPSL. I believe this will be a fun day for all soccer fans in San Diego."

Both clubs will play for local bragging rights at 3pm Sunday April 17 at SD Flash home field; Westview High School.

At half-time of the match, the SD Flash Organization will honor the San Diego Sockers Indoor Soccer Organization. The Sockers recently completed a season in which they won a record - 12th North American PASL-Pro Championship.

The National Premier Soccer League is a United States soccer league recognized by the United States Soccer Federation (USSF) and FIFA. The league is officially affiliated with the United States Adult Soccer Association (USASA) and teams can qualify for the U.S. Open Cup. As of 2011, the NPSL consists of 37 teams nationwide.
