May 13, 2011 - PRLog -- The dynamic convergence of knowledge exhibited in 2010 by the respected international law firm of Benesch Friedlander and the acclaimed transportation consultants of Ahern and Associates, Ltd. has set the stage for a second Trucking and Logistics Conference to be held in Chicago this September.
An expanded panel along with an even more in depth analysis of the many issues facing the transportation industry today will be demonstrated this September by the attorneys of Benesch Friedlander, including their Executive Chairman, Jim Hill and the accomplished CEO of Ahern and Associates, Andy Ahern.
As with the original event, the organizers will tap into the specialized knowledge of several distinguished panel members from across the country who will share their decades of experience within the trucking and logistics industries and provide real world advice to attendees.  2011’s panel members to be named at a later date.
Topics covered during the 2010 Trucking and Logistics Conference held last May included: The State of the Capital Markets in transportation: The Independent Contractor crisis; “Weathering the Storm” of a distressed company; and “Beautifying your company for sale”.  Among the dozens of attendees who travelled to Phoenix for last year’s conference were: John Simourian, Chairman of Lily Transportation, Jeff Jerue, Vice President of John J. Jerue Companies, Patrick Gallagher, Chairman of PGT Trucking and Elizabeth Myzak, Vice President of Transportation of Forest City Trading Group LLC,
For 2011, panel members will harbor an open forum for discussion on a variety of topics including: mergers & acquisitions, trucking & logistics evaluations, private equity’s relationship to transportation, successor planning and debt restructuring among others.

Andy Ahern commented, “Based on the overwhelmingly positive feedback we received from last year’s event, Ahern and Benesch are proud to announce the second installment of our Trucking and Logistics Conference.  This September’s event promises to be even better!”
