Singer Jay Scott Berry # 1 Again

May 18, 2011 - PRLog -- Los Angeles, CA  --- For the second week in a row, Jay Scott Berry finds himself at the top of the Independent Music Network’s Mainstream Chart. “Please Come to Boston” is sitting at the # 1 position again this week. A Grammy award winning song from the 70’s, Berry’s version brought it back to life, spending 16 weeks on IMN’s Top 10, before hitting # 1 last week.  

“His vocals are the key,” commented  Gary Hendrix head of the Independent Music Network, the leading network for Indie artists and bands. “And the production, of course, is quality. It all comes together to give ‘Please Come to Boston’ a new life and take Berry to the top of the charts.”

The debut single from Berry’s Keepsake CD is part of a highly acclaimed collection of songs recorded at the private studios of Charlie Chalmers on the shores of Table Rock Lake in Branson, Missouri. A legendary musician and producer, Chalmers has seven songs in the Grammy Hall of Fame. "I had a very specific sound in mind,” Jay explains. "Something old, something new...something that's been lost along the way...before click tracks, loops, samples or vocal processors."

As producer, Berry’s unwavering directive was simple: To capture an exquisite vocal and acoustic sound. "Just pure music." With a team of top musicians and vocalists, Berry and Chalmers set out in search of that elusive treasure. "I figure that you should sing the songs you love and love the songs you sing,” relates Jay.  "So I chose some of my favorite songs ---  those rare tunes that can reach out and touch the audience."

The result is a fresh, vibrant sound, which breathes new life into the songs themselves while firmly establishing Berry as a rising star in modern music. “Please Come to Boston” hitting the coveted # 1 position for two weeks in a row, proves Berry is right on target.

His debut vocal album, Keepsake is being heralded by DJs and critics alike as "Fantastic,” "Excellent" and "Simply Brilliant!" Not as jazzy as Bublé, nor as operatic as Bocelli, Berry captures an elegant, middle ground that is boldly original, yet pleasantly nostalgic.

Currently on a tour of Europe which has included Italy, Switzerland, San Marino, Croatia and the U.K., Berry is one of the brightest new stars on the international music scene. He recently announced a special concert performance in London on July 15 at the Earls Court Festival. “The Full Moon Concert---A Romantic Evening Under The Stars” will mark the end of Berry’s successful European concert tour that started in Rome last March.  A tour of the U.S. is scheduled for late summer.
