The J Daniel Group's CEO Carla Williams Named Leadership Raleigh Spirit Award Receipt

June 13, 2011 - PRLog -- Raleigh, NC - The J Daniel Group CEO Carla Williams graduated from Leadership Raleigh, the Greater Raleigh Chamber of Commerce’s leadership development program, on June 9. The graduation event, held at First Citizens Bank across from North Hills, celebrated the successful participation of its 51 leaders during the 2010/2011 program.

"Thanks to the Greater Raleigh Chamber of Commerce and its staff for having such a fond commitment to community, service, and giving.  I think that our purpose here on earth is to make others' lives better.  Through Leadership Raleigh, we've been able to slightly close the gap on fulfilling that purpose, but as leaders, we still have a lifetime of leadership opportunities,” comments Williams.  "Leadership Raleigh 26 has graduated a dynamic group of business leaders, community visionaries, and philanthropic mavens and Raleigh will continue to be better because of these very same people who genuinely care."

This year's Leadership Raleigh Distinguished Leader of the Year, selected by the class as a standout leader in the community, was Rod Brind’Amour. Brind'Amour was selected based on his exceptional leadership on the ice during his playing days with the Carolina Hurricanes as well as his tremendous outreach in the community.

Leadership Raleigh is a nine-month program consisting of eight one-day sessions held in the greater Raleigh area with an opening weekend retreat. The program emphasizes three overall components: team projects, community orientation, and enhancing leadership skills/styles.  The Greater Raleigh Chamber of Commerce is accepting applications for the 2011/12 Leadership Raleigh class through June 30, 2011.
