Chicago’s Navy Pier Shanghai Extreme Show Stuns Audiences

July 19, 2011 - PRLog -- CHICAGO, July 18 - Cirque Shanghai has made their way back into Chicago for a summer full of awe-inspiring performances of Cirque Shanghai Extreme.  This world-premiere spectacular will feature a line-up of 16 wonderfully choreographed acts by Chicago's very own Brenda Didier, under the direction of China's Miao Miao Chen, and performances by China’s talented 27-member Yulin Troupe.    

This year’s performance will take place rain or shine on Navy Pier's Pepsi Skyline stage.  The 1,500-seat, canopied, open-air theater at Navy Pier will host such acts as the traditional hoop-diving, plate-spinning, contortionists, and juggling, along with more death-defying performances, such as “Imperial Thunder”.  China’s very best daredevil motorcycle troupe, now with four motorcyclists performing in Cirque Shanghai’s largest steel globe thus far.

Also on the agenda for the all-ages show will be an amazing line up of new daredevil acts, including Shaolin Kung Fu sword-fighting and a motorcyclist cruising across the sky on a wire high above the crowd.  Audiences will also be amazed by the Floating Cube aerial act which features a five-foot cube suspended high above the staging area with artists performing unbelievable balancing acts inside.

The 75-minute, no-intermission production is guaranteed to be mind-blowing.  The current production of Cirque Shanghai Extreme is going on now and runs through September 5, 2011.  Tickets are $15–$32.50 and are available through Ticketmaster or at the Navy Pier box office.  Discounted tickets for parties of 10 or more are available for purchase.
