By: Christopher M. Castillo, CEO Aeutus Marketing Thirty two businesses participated in this unique Green initiative and receiving a full day of training valued at over $1500. This training was led by Bill Roth, Founder of Earth 2017. “We selected Milwaukee as our kick-off city because of the opportunity to partner with the Latino Entrepreneurial Network (LEN) of SE Wisconsin, our 2010 Small Business Chamber of the Year, and the Multicultural Entrepreneurial Institute,” says Javier Palomarez, President and CEO of the USHCC. This program builds on LEN’s three-year initiative supporting Green and Sustainability Practices. In early April, LEN had the opportunity to conduct their Green Entrepreneurial Camp, funded by the Helen Bader Foundation and in partnership with Sams’ Club and Outpost Foods Cooperative. “We were very proud to co-host this program with the USHCC in Milwaukee,” says Nelson Soler, President of LEN and owner of the Multicultural Entrepreneurial Institute. “The Green Builds Business program will accelerate the growth of our local business and enhance our environment” - Pricing, marketing and branding that grow green revenues - Reducing environmental footprint and operating costs - Motivating work associates with opportunities that help the company and the planet Please watch the video: http://www.ventanadc.com/ At least one business in every city will be selected to receive up to 24 hours of one-on-one green coaching (a $6,000 value) to formulate a green business plan or implement a green project that holds the potential of creating jobs, growing profits and reducing emissions this year. In Milwaukee, the USHCC selected two LEN members to received a coaching grant to implement a green strategy: La Merenda Tapas Restaurant will be working on a green roof project and Golden Construction will work on a sustainable building project. # # # LEN’s mission is to bridge individuals, entrepreneurs and microenterprises with resources through strategic alliance formation, networking and sharing of business and financial practices.
