Art & Go Seek Seeks Art Goers for the Hunt

Aug. 12, 2011 - PRLog -- During the month of August, consumers hunt for clues while visiting merchants, all while learning about art. Art goers can grab a passport and match the offered clues to the respective artist, whoever matches the most clues wins.  The promotion runs through August 31, 2011, and the winner will be announced September 6, 2011.

Art & Go Seek is part of the August’s Celebrate the Arts Month in Downtown Canandaigua, a promotion run through the Canandaigua Downtown Merchant Association to celebrate visual, culinary, and performing arts in Canandaigua.

“Everyone loves a scavenger hunt,” Judi Cermak, from the Ontario County Arts Council says.  Judy was instrumental in the making of Art & Go Seek.  “Strolling through the shops and learning about art is a fun way to win the prize.”

The idea came when Judy was searching for an event for August’s Celebrate the Arts Month.  She found different scavenger hunts with original art, but decided to make this a little different.  “This is more community based,” she adds, “and educational for everyone.”

Anyone 18 or over can register and pick up their passport before the end of August at Finger Lakes Gallery & Frame, 175 South Main Street.  There is a $1.00 entry fee and the more participating merchants who are visited, the more chances they are to win.
