Fashion-forward elites such as Mayor Kasim Reed and Tyson Beckford will pay tribute to design icons Willi Smith and Bethann Hardison for Fashion's Night Out.Earlier this month, the Mayor held a press conference at the W Buckhead Hotel to announce the participants in this year's Fashion's Night Out. Reed stated, "Around the world, cities will put a spotlight on the fashion industry with special after-hours events. Fashion's Night Out has become a global phenomenon. Atlanta's participation last year displayed our city's emergence as a key player in the fashion industry." Friday through Sunday (September 9th-11th) will be shopping only days at Atlantic Station with several events at Lenox Mall, Phipps Plaza, Atlantic Station as well as the Midtown area. Over 100 U.S. cities are participating in Fashion's Night Out Sept.8th-11th. All proceeds from the purchase of items from the MARKET go towards the construction of The Good Shepherd Community Hospital for Children in Kigali, Rwanda, part of the mission of One Hundred Days. Dr. Scott Sasser, founder and president of One Hundred Days says, "The health care system is one of the many victims of the genocide."According to the World Health Organization, there are only about 400 doctors in the entire country who serve a population of over eight million people.Hospitals are often overcrowded with overworked staff and outdated equipment.Currently, there is no facility dedicated to serving children in the entire country.
