Follow on Google News | ![]() Pastry Live Weekend - Student Chocolate Challenge Scholarship Winners AnnouncedOn Saturday, August 27th, six Art Institute of Atlanta pastry students competed to win up to $2,500 in scholarship prizes. Each student had one hour to temper their chocolate and assemble their showpieces in front of the judges.
By: Pastry Live Six advanced pastry students competed to gain the coveted prizes, but Elizabeth Seiz was awarded the title of first place. Her showpiece expressed to the judges good technique and clean work, but she also included skilled artistry in her design through hand painted pieces and piped chocolate leaves. Second place and a $1,500 scholarship went to Breanna Kinkead, who showed true craftsmanship through carved details in her showpiece, while Jennifer Tyler’s solar system inspired creation earned her the third place scholarship of $1,000. Additional competitors Deanna Johnson, Elizabeth Robertson and Kathleen Suzanne Thomas also showed true drive and determination in their showpieces. Each displayed a high level of commitment and professionalism in their work and should be proud of their accomplishments.
