Democrat Karl Wagner Kicks off Fall Campaign for Pike County Commissioner

Sept. 13, 2011 - PRLog -- Pike County Commissioner Karl Wagner has kicked off his fall campaign by announcing the appointment of a prominent Delaware Township Democrat to chair his re-election campaign, and the creation of a campaign web site and Facebook page.

Elizabeth Forrest, who serves as State Democratic Committeewoman for Pike County and served as a legislative aide to former state Rep. John Siptroth, will head Wagner’s re-election campaign committee, which is comprised of Democrats, Republicans and Independents representing every municipality in Pike County. Forrest has worked on numerous campaigns in Pike County at every level.

“Even though there is another name on the Democratic ballot this fall, Karl Wagner is the only true Democrat running for commissioner, so I accepted his request without hesitation,” Forrest said. “I believe it’s imperative we maintain bipartisan representation on the Pike County Board of Commissioners.”

She went on to say that with the transition experienced on the current Board of Commissioners brought about by the abrupt resignation of Harry Forbes in February, Wagner’s experience and steady leadership has been an asset that Pike County residents should want to maintain.

“Karl knows the job and does it well, and that’s key to any successful transition,” she said.
