Sept. 14, 2011 - PRLog -- The book, Stone-Upon Stone, written by Fayetteville, NC author, Brian Barnette is an illustrated tale of two souls whose journey in life is separated by stones placed between them as time goes by.  The stones, symbolic of the things that cause breakdowns in communication and relationships:  regrets, lies, unforgiveness, etc. appear to be obstacles between them, but as the story goes, the truth is revealed.

Audrey Layden, of the Carolina Book Beat blog and radio host at WCOM 103.5 in Carrboro, NC said:  “Stone Upon Stone is a small, very moving story with a big message.  Colorfully and simply illustrated it almost looks like a book for the very young but it is, instead, a fable for adults about relationships and the paths they may take.  It is a gift that might speak volumes for you if you feel a connection you care about is beginning to weaken.  Worth find out more about at Peak City Publishing."

Shiloh Burnam, President of Peak City Publishing, LLC, said the connection between the book and the organization makes sense.  "Brian and I attended a Drag Bingo event in August.  The event was fun, entertaining and a successful fundraiser for an effort to make life a little easier for those suffering with HIV/AIDS.  We believe the meaning of "Stone-Upon-Stone" will bring new life to relationships through forgiveness and love."

The mission of the AAS-C organization is to serve people living with HIV/AIDS, their loved ones, caregivers and communities at large, through compassionate and non-judgmental care, prevention, education and advocacy.  One of the many events hosted by the organization is Drag Bingo at the Durham Armory.  These fun, entertaining events raise thousands of needed dollars to support many who suffer from a disease that is often associated with homelessness, substance and discrimination.  Tickets for the October 29th “Pirates of the Cari-Bingo” event are currently on sale at http://www.aas-c.org web site.
