Sept. 16, 2011 - PRLog -- The focus on this years Frankfurt international Autoshow is clearly visible: Technology. Hybrid cars as well as electric models are the favourite choice of every carmaker showing the latest trends in research and technology. Represented colors seem to have a supporting role in this regard with white, gray, silver and black leading the pack.

Colorful highlights are the concept cars of various manufacturers showing bright orange or yellow shades catching the eye of the visitor and creating attention. Consequently solid reds seem to have a kind of importance this year.

Two years ago the color range was almost complete from beige to yellow from pink to bright blue, almost every color appeared in matt and glossy variants.
Today the overall picture is dominated by subdued shades that feature the form and technologies of the current and future models.

Bright orange colors seem to be the most important choice for concept cars. Although orange is popular for some years now there seems to be a revival for especially outstanding orange variants.
A special kick is added by playing with matt and glossy combinations on the surfaces.

Other colors that seemed to have gained some popularity in recent years are on the decline or have disappeared again due to the still unbroken importance of white shades in combination with black accessories like rims and windows. White seems to be the new silver!
Especially the trend to matt white surfaces is clearly visible. This technological and clean look fits perfectly the image of environmentally friendly and ecological cars: focus is on the essential.

The popularity of matt finishes and so-called liquid metal effects for Autoshows is fading slowly. Also tinted clearcoats and tricoat colors in extraordinary variants are not shown that often anymore.
Single carmakers still show a bright and versatile range of colors mostly for smaller vehicles.
Some beige and brown shades are the popular choice for SUVs and limousines.

Color has become supportive in transporting other messages like Eco (white), Classic (beige, brown), Sportive (red), Future (gray) In general it is not quite visible in which direction the trend moves and what to expect as the next highlight.
At present “Understatement is key”.
