Follow on Google News | Toastmasters International President Michael Notaro to Headline District 83 Fall Conference!Toastmasters International President Michael Notaro will be the special guest at the District 83 Fall Conference, September 24-25 at Ramada Conference Center in East Hanover. President Notaro will be the featured speaker at the Saturday’s Banquet.
By: Anna D. Banks, District 83 PRO Michael Notaro, DTM, of Alameda, California, is an attorney, principal of the Notaro Law Group and a licensed real estate broker. Before opening his law practice, Notaro was the president of Phoenix Commercial Realty. He earned his law degree from Golden Gate University School of Law in San Francisco. Notaro joined Toastmasters during his senior year at the University of California, Berkeley, to learn techniques for delivering a graduation speech. He was immediately impressed with the program and how it improved the members' self-confidence. “Toastmasters has given me a wealth of friends worldwide and unparalleled professional growth,” says Notaro, a 23-year-member of the Oakland City Center club in Oakland, California. He’s also a member of LaughLovers Comedy club in Oakland and the Cherry City Toastmasters in San Leandro, California. As an officer of the Toastmasters International Board of Directors, Notaro is a working ambassador for the organization. He works with the Board to develop, support and modify the policies and procedures that guide the organization in fulfilling its mission. In addition to the Presidential Visit, both days of the conference promise to be packed with fun, excitement, and learning. The District 83 Humorous Speech Contest is scheduled for Saturday night, with the District 83 Table Topics Contest set for Sunday afternoon. The 8 top-notch workshops and educational sessions are: "Write Unique Speeches Using Music as a Guide," by William Cassels "Relevance: Being the leader People Want to Follow," by Juanita Daly "Power Strategies for Effective Club Growth", by Rebecca Simmons "Epicurean Essentials," "Listening, Talking and Communicating," "Everyone Communicates, Few Connect." by Andrew Smith "No Snoring Allowed!' by Mark Streitmen "FEAR: Understand it. Control it. Master it!," Paul Camarinha A special Saturday treat will be the very-popular "Karaoke Fun Night" where even people who don't sing can have a blast and make new friends. An added treat this year is “Late Night Networking, Mix-and-Mingle. The Late Night Networking and Karaoke will begin immediately following the banquet. The entertainment will be available until 10:30PM. Light refreshments and a cash bar will be available on Saturday night. Saturday includes continental breakfast refreshments for early arrivals, a fantastic luncheon buffet and the banquet dinner.
