PRLog -- PHILADELPHIA, PA: Meredith Elementary School in Philadelphia is holding a FREE Lice Information Session this coming Thursday, October 6, at 7pm at the school located at the corner of 5th and Fitzwater Streets in Philadelphia. Emily Betterly from the professional lice removal company “Lice Happens” (http://www.licehappens.com)
will lead an hour long workshop for parents teaching them how to search for head lice, and discuss treatment options that are non-toxic and eco-friendly. Betterly will also dispel some of the more common myths about lice and answer any questions. "The parents of Meredith School have been grappling with ways to curb lice for the past 2 years,” says Cindy Farlino, Meredith’s Principal. “They have radically reduced the cases in Meredith through parent education combined with school action." However, no matter how vigilant families and schools can be – lice happens. As many as 12-million people contract head lice every year and it is most prevalent in elementary school aged children. Once a child contracts head lice, it can spread quickly to friends and other family members through close person to person contact. It can take some families’ weeks to become fully “lice free” and the process can become very frustrating for parents. There are professional lice removal companies that can be very expensive, however, Meredith is offering Thursday’s workshop for free.
