Follow on Google News | Local Entertainers Promote Breast Cancer Awareness Event At Downtown EateryThe Harbor House Restaurant will be hosting a Breast Cancer Awareness event to raise money for a local woman battling breast cancer.
By: Kimberly "Miss Pinctoes" Kane The event was conceived by Kane and Covington as a local project to help publicize October as "Breast Cancer Awareness Month." According to the National Cancer Institute almost 40,000 deaths occur in the United States as a direct result of breast cancer. Ms. Kane stated, "It is an excellent opportunity to support a good cause. I heard about that young mother's fight with breast cancer and I felt compelled to do something to help." The benefit will feature live entertainment showcasing local recording artists, vocalists, musicians, comedians, and local activists. The benefit will held at the Harbor House eatery which is located in downtown Detroit's historic entertainment district, which is located at 440 Clinton Street. The event starts at 9:00pm and is expected to run until 2:00am. Cover charge for entry is $5 per person.
