Redmond School to Host 4th Annual Preparing Your Child For Success Seminar

Reading, kindergarten readiness, early childhood education – parents can get the information they need to help their children be successful in school and life by attending a free early childhood seminar on November 5 from 9 a.m. to noon.
 
Oct. 28, 2011 - PRLog -- The seminar covers a wide-range of topics taught by local teachers and education experts. This free half-day seminar will leave you feeling empowered to give your child the tools necessary for success.

The seminar is open to the public and consists of three sessions. During each session, participants attend the topic that is most relevant or interesting to them.  The sessions include:

•   Keynote: Children’s Literature: Ignite the Spark—Speaker Denise Peeler
•   Raising Responsible Children Using the Love and Logic Approach—Instructor Karen Wright, Ph.D.
•   How to Talk so Kids Will Listen and Listen so Kids Will Talk—Instructor Kellie Anderson
•   The Five Love Languages of Children—Instructor Jenn McDonough
•   Boosting Your Child’s Brain Power: How Brain Research Applies to Early Learning—Instructor Tressa Parker
•   De-Stress Your Child’s Life—Instructor Karen Blankenbeckler
•   Equipping Your Child with Tools for School Success—Instructor Renee Matson
•   Raising Kids with Character—Instructor Rachel Urban
•   Developing a Strong Number Concept—Instructor Lena Whitlock
•   Bringing Music and Movement into Your Child's Life—Instructor Deb Maurer
•   Understanding Personality and Temperament—Instructor Denise Peeler

“We want to give parents ideas and skills they can use to help their children develop independence and responsibility. We care about kids and want to be a valuable education resource to our community,” shares Karen Blankenbeckler, Vice President for Academic Affairs at The Bear Creek School.
