The information Dr. Sylvest will share with you in this workshop is practical and can be immediately applied. The positive results will affect all aspects of one's experience for a joyous, long, healthy life-a life that will have a positive empowering influence on others. You can heal and become a healer.

Growing up as a preacher's kid in Louisiana, Dr. Sylvest became aware at an early age of a wide range of human problems, including disease and death. This exposure sparked a search for answers and solutions which led to the study of medicine and, ultimately, pathology. Initially frustrated in his quest for understanding, he surrendered to a conventional approach to life and the practice of medicine, until he became ill. In desperation he then began to explore beyond conventional medicine into the realm of physics and the energetic relationship between mind and body, including the role of spirituality.

His study and application of what he learned resulted in his own healing of what was considered an incurable disease for which he has a genetic marker and took him into direct patient care. His first book, which includes much of his experience, The Formula: Who Gets Sick; Who Gets Well, Who is Unhappy; Who is Happy and Why, was published by SunStar in 1996 and is now in its third printing. The information presented in his first book is included and expounded upon with additional information in his second book, The End of Fear. Interest in his work has led to lecture tours across the country and abroad.

Dr. Sylvest attended LSU School of Medicine in New Orleans, finishing first in his class, did a clinical internship at Parkland Memorial Hospital of Southwestern Medical Center in Dallas, Texas, served in a surgery clinic for the Public Health Service in Washington, D. C. and practiced emergency medicine at Holy Cross Hospital, Silver Spring, Maryland. He completed his pathology training at the University of Michigan Medical Center. Dr. Sylvest served as a pathologist on the staff of Johnston- Willis and Chippenham Hospitals in Richmond, Virginia. He has served on the Board of Directors of the American Holistic Medical Association. He served as the director of the Institute for Higher Healing where he practiced primary care medicine. He served as medical director of Laboratory Corporation of America's Richmond laboratory and as associate medical director of Bostwick Laboratories, Inc. He is a Fellow of the College of American Pathologists. He has also participated in the integrative medicine curriculum at the VCU Medical Center.

Dr. Sylvest is currently the owner and director of Healing Waters Lodge, a holistic retreat center, in the mountains of Highland County, Virginia.
