Governor Neil Abercrombie proclaims 3rd Annual Hawaii Week for the Animals December 3-11, 2011

Nov. 30, 2011 - PRLog -- The exciting week will feature pet adoption festivals and events, pet therapy in hospitals,  educational activities, bird watching/walking tours, holiday lighting ceremony at Volcano Art Center, Whale National Marine Sanctuary Reef Survey & Snorkel, library displays and activities, holiday pet photos, blessings of the animals, dog parks, low cost and free spay and neuter opportunities, People and Land of Kahuku - Ranger-led Hike 2 miles through pastures, quarry, airstrip and the extraordinary 1868 lava fields, salute to working/ K-9’s, Friends of Hawaiʻi Volcanoes National Park Sunday Walk in the Park and so much more!

All these events celebrate the amazing animals, beautiful culture and compassionate people of Hawaii. The week presents a unique opportunity to change the history for communities and animals by collectively coming together.
