Shergroup extends MoJ contract for debtor vehicle recovery services

Jan. 31, 2012 - PRLog -- Enforcement firm Shergroup has secured a one-year contract renewal to provide the Ministry of Justice (MoJ) with debtor vehicle recovery services.

Shercar, part of Shergroup, allows bailiffs and enforcement officers to obtain information on vehicles from the DVLA’s online enquiry system.

The MOJ has used the Shercar system since its inception in 2004, and has announced that the contract has been renewed for a further year.

Claire Sandbrook, Shergroup’s chief executive, said: “The MOJ contract is very substantial and reinforces Shercar’s position as the safest pair of hands in the industry.

“We are in talks with authorities in Scotland to provide the Shercar service there next year, alongside our existing provision in England and Wales.”

The Shercar system is also set to extend its offering to include an online automated removal and sales service.

Sandbrook added: “As it stands, we currently receive around 50,000 enquiries each year and we predict this figure will increase even further with the new services we are introducing.”
