McArthurGlen Livingston Announces £1million makeover

Feb. 28, 2012 - PRLog -- McArthurGlen’s Livingston Designer Outlet, Scotland’s largest designer outlet, has announced a £1million makeover, transforming the current Foodcourt into Livingston’s Food Quarter - a sleek, contemporary 20,500 sqft eatery area.

The development reflects on the increasing trend amongst Scottish shoppers to combine shopping, dining and cinema in one. Livingston’s Food Quarter will seat up to 800 people across 15 eateries catering for all shopper’s tastes, from tasty, filling jacket potatoes from £3 at Spud U Like or authentic Italian pasta dishes from £7 at Pizza Express.

Karen Stewart, Centre Manager at McArthurGlen’s Livingston Designer Outlet, says: “Many of our shoppers are looking for a shopping and entertainment experience, combining their fashion trip with a meal and film, often staying into the evening. The six figure development really enhances the centre’s environment and puts McArthurGlen’s Livingston on the map as the must-visit destination for shoppers from Edinburgh, Glasgow and the immediate local area.”

To ensure all shoppers are catered for, Livingston’s Food Quarter will be split into three areas: The Pit Stop with a self-service bar area; the Family Kitchen a child-friendly larger open plan table and chair seated area; and the Dining Lounge with banquette-style seating providing flexible seating arrangements. The new, developed space will be the perfect setting for lunch or dinner, and also a useful meeting point for friends to re-group over coffee before enjoying a stroll around the shops.

In addition to the food offering, McArthurGlen’s Livingston has over 75 leading designer and high street brands including Ted Baker, Karen Millen and Phase Eight at up to 60% less, offering shoppers on-trend fashion at a fraction of the cost.

The development will be completed at the end of March 2012. All construction work is taking place throughout the evening.
