But bustle it does: The “Bourbon Capital of the World” is a spirited community and home to the distilleries of Kentucky Bourbon Country: Heaven Hill, Maker’s Mark, Jim Beam, Willet’s, Barton 1792 Distillery. Bardstown’s Civil War Museum of the Western Theatre is one of the four most important such museums in the country. Also here: Oscar Getz Museum of Whiskey History, The Kentucky Railway Museum, My Old Kentucky Dinner Train and “The Stephen Foster Story,” Kentucky’s official outdoor drama. A vibrant restaurant landscape includes historic dining venues and locally owned eateries; shopping includes locally owned boutiques and galleries. There are four 18-hole golf courses, two wineries and many religious attractions. End
