March 31, 2012 - PRLog -- DETROIT - Mobile technology has been called ‘transformative’ in verticals such as healthcare, commerce, automotive, education and others; what is less well known is that mobile technologies also have the ability to transform the way government operates and serves its constituencies.

The case for utilizing mobile technologies in the government sector is driven by:

•  The ubiquity of mobile technology use in the U.S.
•  Opportunities to use mobile to improve the efficiency of service delivery in government
•  Innovations in mobile technologies that can propel new government services and capabilities
•  Improved transparency through increased access to government data and information

The use of mobile technologies to enhance government functions and activities is becoming increasingly popular – at all levels, from federal, to state, to local communities.

Governmental entities in Michigan are on-track with their utilization of these technologies in increasing numbers.
