Roof Grip installed at Blue Route Mall, Cape Town

Alifab recently completed the installation of its Roofgrip Access Walkway System and a fall arrest system at the revamped and extended Blue Route Mall in Tokai, Cape Town. Alifab is the fabrication trading company of Ampliform South Africa located in Pietermaritzburg, KZN.

This multi million rand project was completed under the supervision of Scheltema Roofing and Grinaker LTA.

The professional team understood the benefits of providing safe and secure access to the roof space both for maintenance and cleaning. To this end they engaged with Alifab for the use of their ‘Roofgrip’ roof access system.

‘Roofgrip’ is ideally suited to this type of application as it is designed to distribute the load imposed by workmen walking on the roof sheets over a larger surface area of the roof sheet thereby eliminating the chance of localised damage to the roof sheets.


The product is manufactured from an aluminium floor grating therefore it is light in weight and is non corrosive. The light weight also ensures the load imposed on the roof structure is negligible and because of its non corrosive properties it requires very little maintenance. Its design features make it self cleaning, so the product ensures it does not become a maintenance issue itself.
