The 'New Age' piano playing style Weiss talks about has been around since the early 1980's and peaked soon thereafter. But according to Weiss, the style is making a strong comeback.

"A lot of people have become disillusioned by the classical approach to playing piano. Sure, you'll learn how to play the piano with sensitivity and control, but you won't be able to just sit down at the piano and play off the top of your head.
