The new product is a dedicated stabilization and isolation system designed to accommodate boundary microphones which are used for kick drum applications. Use of the system provides the ability to leave the boundary microphone inside the drum during transport and is also said to increase the responsiveness of the microphone’s performance. The smartly designed shape of the mounting unit reliably encapsulates the microphone with no worry of it damaging the inside of the drum shell between gigs, no matter in which orientation the drum is handled.

Made in the USA from strong high-density composite materials, The Kelly SHU FLATZ™ is available in three different models which accommodate 4 of the most popular boundary microphones used for kick drum applications. SHURE® BETA 91 and 91A microphones fit the same model FLATZ™ unit, while the SHURE® SM91 has its own dedicated mounting platform. Installation of the product’s rubber isolation ring support system is as easy as removing and replacing 4 pre-existing hardware screws located inside the drum with no drilling or modification of the drum shell needed.  The Kelly SHU FLATZ™ is designed to seamlessly install inside most kick drums 20 to 26 inches in diameter.
