Position One Sets 2012 Race Schedule

April 11, 2012 - PRLog -- Position One Motorsports and driver Luis Martinez Jr. are poised for a challenging year competing at several of the regions best short tracks. While the team continues to develop their Driver Development Program, their racing schedule is about winning and showcasing the team.

The team recently completed a successful test session at both Orange Show and Havasu 95 Speedway in preparation for this weekends first race of the season for the Southern California based team. The team will travel back to Lake Havasu (AZ) and compete in a companion event to the NASCAR K&N Pro Series at the quarter-mile paved oval this Saturday, April 14.

"The test went real well," said Rip Michels, Director of Competition for Position One. "We all had a bit of rust after the winter but Luis was real smooth and got the car up to speed quickly. In every test we learn something and we were able to work on a set up that should prove successful."

The team also plans to test at the new Kern County track in Bakersfield, CA that is scheduled to open later this fall.

Position One Motorsports goals for 2012 will be to further develop their winning tradition and become the premier West Coast team for developing championship caliber drivers. The team currently has a fleet of three ultra-competitive Late Model cars and two equally competitive Super Late Model entries ready for competition.  A brand new Late Model is the newest addition to the rental program, along with a previous Toyota All-star Showdown winning Super Late Model entry. The team will compete at various west coast tracks in 2012 and their current schedule includes visits to The Bullring in Las Vegas, All American Speedway, Madera Speedway, Stockton 99 and Lake Havasu.

Position One Motorsports has corporate partnerships with King Taco, Lucas Oil, Eibach Springs, Ron's Rear Ends, and Jan's Towing. The team completes in Super Late Model/Late Model races throughout the Southwest region as well as providing a complete Driver Development Program for funded drivers. Giving Thanks to a Hero
"Giving Thanks to a Hero" program honors servicemen/servicewomen and their families involved in the 10-year plus war on terrorism and the enormous sacrifices many of them have had to make in order to make this country safer, the Position One Motorsports team is hoping that the program will in some small way show that we are all appreciative of their sacrifices.
