PRLog -- Fairview Microwave is now offering SMA PCB Edge Launch test connectors. Fairview Microwave's SMA PCB Edge Launch test connectors are designed for printed circuit boards and suitable for high frequency chip set evaluation/demo boards, test fixtures, and board characterization. Fairview Microwave has several versions with a unique clamping mechanism that accomodates a few different board thicknesses while providing a continuous ground connection between end launch and circuit board. Assembly of these connectors on their board do not require solder for quick and convenient installation. Both grounded coplanar and microstrip with top ground launch applications are both supported. The SMA PCB Edge Launch test connectors have the capability to go mode free up to 27 Ghz. These connectors come with modified SMA connectors which are good up to 27 ghz, standard SMA's are good up to 18 ghz. Although refined versions of SMA's are good up to 27 ghz, they will mate with 18 ghz version SMA's. Fairview Microwave currently has a product line for 5 board thicknesses. PCB edge launch connectors available for the 63 mil, 48 mil, 39 mil, 31 mil, and 29 mil boards options. If a launch point needs to be picked up close to the ground, the launch overhand is a perfect feature for the requirement. For applications with very tight tolerances, solder is also optional. Solder needs to be applied to the launch pin. SMA PCB edge launch test connectors with pricing, datasheets, and inventory levels are available at
