Mississippi approves a new “Disease Prevention Course” for Tattoo Artists and Body Piercers

The Mississippi State Department of Health has approved a Body Art Training Group online course as a “Disease Prevention Course” for Tattoo Artists and Body Piercers.

May 14, 2012 - PRLog -- The Body Art Training Group’s online course, “Bloodborne Pathogens and Infection Control for Body Art Professionals”, was approved today as a Tattoo and Body Piercing “Disease Prevention Course” by the Professional Licensure Division of the Mississippi State Department of Health.

Mississippi requires tattoo artists and body piercers who want to practice within the state to take a Disease Prevention Course as part of the requirements for state registration.

Body art practitioners can now satisfy this requirement by taking “Bloodborne Pathogens and Infection Control for Body Art Professionals”.  This course also complies with OSHA’s initial and annual bloodborne pathogens training requirements.  After successful completion of this course, a Certificate of Completion can be immediately printed.

This narrated course has five sections: OSHA; Pathogens and Communicable Diseases; Chain of Infection; Exposure Control and Infection Prevention Plans; and Compliance.  A full course description and a free course preview are available at http://www.bodyarttraininggroup.com.

On this website, tattoo artists and body piercers can also find other training courses and a body art blog that contains legislative updates and articles on body art safety.
