Registration is Still Open for the 2012 Chicago Mud Run and Obstacle Series

Those who wish to take part in Chicago’s annual Mud Run will have their choice of two courses, both with a different assortment of challenging obstacles to charge through. Registration is still open for both the 5K and the 10K. Either will be a fun way to test one’s mettle and have fun while doing it. The 10K course will take place on a farm and will go as follows.


For the first mile, the terrain is flat and the pace is fast. Runners will have to sprint up and through a large barn, run through a field, then over the highway to a dirt trail that leads deep into the farm. Mile two continues with running through rolling hills. Mile three will bring runners through a hay field where they can potentially make up some time. For Mile 4, racers should plan on getting a little wet; after runners make their way through a small stream, they will continue through the hay field before heading to another farmhouse and pond. Mile 5 will take racers through a horse pasture. On the final stretch of the race, runners will face Powers Road and can expect to get down and dirty. This is where the real fun will begin.
