FOR  IMMEDIATE  RELEASE

Ferndale -  Just Breathe Yoga and Catskill Mountain Boot Camp, a wholistic fitness sanctuary in the Catskill mountains of Upstate New York, is proud to present Sullivan County’s first-ever 5k trail run/walk with a one mile obstacle course entitled:  HAPPY FEAT.
The event will take place on Sunday, July 15, 2012 at 108 Breezy Hill Rd., Parksville, NY.  Registration begins at 9:30 am.  Start time is 11 am.  The event is free to spectators.  Parking is free.  There will be music.  Breakfast and lunch items will be available for purchase.
A percentage of profits will go to two organizations:  Catskill Mountainkeeper and Boys and Girls Club of Sullivan County.

The 5k trail is a beautiful mountain top mix of hills, woods, a pine forest, a pond, ferns, wild flower meadows and blueberry paths.  At least 16 different obstacles have been scheduled for this first Happy Feat event.  Mostly all natural and/or recycled materials have been chosen in the construction of the obstacle course which is about one-third of the event’s total distance.  There will be hundreds of tires put to various uses such as agility runs and tire mountain climbing.  Different types of hurdles, a classic potato sack jump, rapidly winding paths, a wooden “A” frame, and a “Slippery Slope” are just a few of the obstacles at Happy Feat.
All fitness levels, and ages 13 and over, can participate.  Participants under 18 years of age must be accompanied by a parent or guardian.  All obstacles can be avoided if participants choose to do so.

Roberta Byron-Lockwood, CEO of the Sullivan County Visitors Association, recently toured the facility and grounds.  “We are looking forward to this first ever Happy Feat event.  Its variety of obstacles and the scenic mixture for the 5k trails and paths will combine to make this a very interesting new event for the area”, Lockwood said.
