July 6, 2012 - PRLog -- Pottery Northwest – the Pacific Northwest’s premier ceramics studio and a community of artists at many levels – is hosting its fifth annual “Salad Bowl” fundraiser to support its many educational and artist-in-residency programs including a wide variety of free public events such as resident artist’s shows and curated exhibitions. Salad Bowl 2012 is set to take place on Thursday, August 2 at Pottery Northwest’s historic home at 226 First Avenue North (between Thomas and John), just one block south of the Key Arena at the Seattle Center.  Activities are planned throughout the studio itself as well as expanding into a big festive white tent just beyond the kiln yard.

General Admission tickets (sold exclusively through Brown Paper Tickets) are $75 per person and entitle each ticket holder to choose from 250 fabulous salad bowls to fill with delectable edibles provided by some of Seattle’s best chefs.  Each ticket is automatically included in a drawing for a special door prize at the end of the evening. Attendees can also bid on unique artwork from the silent auction (an intentionally small and exquisite grouping) and chat with the artists-in-residence in their gallery and work spaces.  $500 Sponsor ticket holders have the added opportunity to select from a collection of extraordinary and lush storage jars created by the PNW resident artists and several guest artists such as Jeffry Mitchell and Tip Toland. A completely new addition to the event this year is a mini live auction (ten minutes max) featuring dinner prepared by Chef Robin Leventhal on tableware created by former resident and Seattle artist, Deborah Schwartzkopf.

The Salad Bowl in a nutshell:
- 250 handmade and painted bowls to choose from,
- Scrumptious edibles from Seattle's most talented (and very generous) chefs,
- A silent auction of exquisite artwork,
- Extraordinary storage jars for sponsor ticket holders to choose from, and
- A live auction dinner prize
