By: James Dicks TBS held the first annual TBS national Championship based on TBS’ top 25 national rankings. Of the top 25 Elite travel baseball teams in the United States 19 of them made the trip to Atlanta to compete. Team Combat was the only first year program to be invited coming in at number 21. Team Combat was struggling with its pitching as the season is nearing an end, one of the team’s aces didn’t make the trip and three starting pitchers were unable to pitch. Regardless Team Combat was able to compete against the best teams in the country. Team Combat made it to the Challenge Cup Championship falling short to a very good 11th ranked Southern California United. Team Combat finished 14th overall in the tournament beating the nationally ranked #13 East Cobb Astros and the #14 Evoshiled Canes, recently beating the #4 Team MVP from south Florida in the State Championships. Team Combat is holding its 4 day open tryout camp at the end of the month and preparing for the USSSA Elite 32 World Series at Disney’s ESPN starting August 4, 2012. One of the main sources of building teamwork and character has always been youth sports. Team combat 11U is part of The Central Florida Baseball Academy (CFBA). The CFBA helps in developing positive character traits and a keen understanding of the sport of baseball through the Team Combat baseball teams. CFBA’s Combat 11U team for the 2011-2012 is dedicated to teaching all participants a commitment to lifetime fundamentals, both on and off the field. The program begins with a top-level travel baseball coach, and includes players and committed parents who understand that it takes one big family to create a winning team, both on and off the field. CFBA doesn’t simply teach the basic fundamentals, they teach the game of baseball. The academy provides each player with year-round instruction and quality coaching from experienced professionals and strives to instill a strong sense of sportsmanship and teamwork in each player, while learning to become successful in the fundamentals of baseball. If you’d like more information about this very special program, e-mail the CFBA at info@teamcombatorlando.com. End
