Progressive Democrats Endorse Alan Grayson for Congress

(Washington, D.C.) – Progressive Democrats of America enthusiastically endorsed former congressman and current congressional nominee Alan Grayson (D-FL) for election in Florida's 9th Congressional District, calling him the “consummate Healthcare Not Warfare, 99% candidate.” 
“I’m proud to have the support of people with conscience all over the country,” said Grayson after getting word of the endorsement. He is the Democratic Party nominee for the new U.S. House of Representatives District 9, which encompasses Orange, Osceola and Polk counties in Florida.

In announcing the endorsement, PDA’s National Director Tim Carpenter said, “PACs backed by the Koch Brothers, Karl Rove and other far-right big-money operatives knocked out Congressman Grayson in 2010. Now, he's back with even more fire in his belly, and more love in his heart than ever. We're already working to help put him back in Congress where we know he'll stand up for the people against special interests and extremists.”

PDA provides excellent support to progressive candidates, primarily in the area of field operations. The group makes tens of thousands of live phone calls to voters on behalf of the candidates it supports. PDA endorsed the following other candidates and incumbents this cycle: U.S. Senate nominee Elizabeth Warren (D-MA.); Congress members John Conyers (D-MI.), Raul Grijalva (D-AZ.), Barbara Lee, (D-CA.), Jim McGovern (D-MA), and Donna Edwards, (D-MD.); as well as nominees and candidates Wenona Benally Baldenegro (D-AZ.), David Schapira (D-AZ.), Dr. David Gill (D-IL.), Rob Zerban (D-WI), Wayne Powell, (D-VA.) and Lesli Messinger (D-GA).
