The Legacy at Willow Bend Names Stacey Johnson Director of Health Services

Aug. 10, 2012 - PRLog -- The Legacy at Willow Bend, Plano’s first and only life care retirement community, has named Stacey Johnson director of health services. The announcement was made by Lana Van Giesen, executive director of The Legacy at Willow Bend.

“We are pleased to welcome Stacey to The Legacy at Willow Bend,” said Van Giesen.  “Stacey has a true passion for nursing and health care administration in long-term care and has many years of hands-on nursing care and administrative experience.”

Johnson has spent more than 18 years working with seniors in all arenas of long-term care and rehabilitation. As a licensed nurse in a geriatric setting, she has 10 years of hands-on nursing care and assessment nursing experience. She joins The Legacy at Willow Bend from Park Meadows Senior Living in Kansas where she served as administrator/executive director. She also held this prestigious position at Villages of Jackson Creek in Missouri, Brookdale Senior Living (Park Place Retirement Community) in Washington, and Brookdale Senior Living (The Sweet Life at Shawnee) in Kansas. Johnson previously served as clinical resource manager for Olathe Medical Center Hospice and interim director of nursing/house supervisor/charge nurse for Trinity Lutheran Manor.

“I possess a strong advocacy belief and voice for the rights of seniors, and I have been working with state and Certified Medicare and Medicaid Services agencies to advocate for change,” said Johnson. “I believe my deep background in hands-on nursing care, 8 years of operations management in a variety of facilities and my passion for bettering the lives of seniors will allow me to make a great impact at The Legacy at Willow Bend.”
