StreetPass NYC Plays Minigolf on Governors Island

Sept. 5, 2012 - PRLog -- Remember, back in the day when you’d spend hours and hours in the dark womb of the Arcade?

Prepare to relive those memories as StreetPass NYC invites you to Governors Island to the FIGMENT NYC’s Arcade Mini-Golf course this Saturday, September 8th at Governors Island! (Thunderstorm Backup Date: September 15th).

From NOON until 5:00pm, members will play all eight retro video game holes to see who ends up in the sand pits and who is worthy of being the next Tiger Woods. Then activities will shift to Nintendo 3DS multiplayer games such as Kid Icarus: Uprising and New Super Mario Bros 2 Coin Rush challenges. Winners will receive packs of Kid Icarus: Uprising Booster Packs Series One. Later on in the day around 3:00 PM StreetPass NYC also may provide some edible treats and hang out in hammocks around Picnic Point more south of the Island via the Tram system.

FIGMENT NYC Mini-Golf Course ( http://newyork.figmentproject.org/long-term-exhibitions/2012figment-minigolf/ ) is located on Governors Island in the Parade Grounds, South of Fort Jay. To travel to Governors Island, Manhattan locals can take the 1 train to the South Ferry Station and then take the ferry from the Battery Maritime Building to the island. Brooklyn locals can take the 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, A, C or F train to the Jay Street/Borough Hall stop and take the ferry from Pier 6 at the Brooklyn Bridge Park to the island.
