USLCI Nationals Up Next For Dave Reed Racing

Oct. 20, 2012 - PRLog -- Dave Reed Racing makes an inaugural trip to Atlanta Motor Speedway in Hampton, Georgia October 24-27 for the prestigious USLCI Legend Car Nationals. The event draws the competitors from all across the country, Canada, Mexico, and a few competitors from other countries where a National Champion will be crowned in each of four divisions.

DRR will feature two drivers in the event. Team owner and part-time driver Dave Reed will pilot his Approved Memory/Trenton Systems Legend car in the Master's division while his son, Austin Reed will drive the K&N Filters/Trenton Systems car in the ultra-competitive Pro division.

The four-day spectacular gets underway Wednesday, October 24 with registration and technical inspection followed by a day of practice on Thursday. Friday, October 26 the drivers will qualify then compete in heat races that will determine the starting lineup for either the Last Chance Qualifiers races (LCQ) and/or a starting position in the 40-lap feature race(s) Saturday, October 27.

Austin has had a busy 2012 competing in a variety of racing event from California to North Carolina since January picking up several victories along the way. He graduated from high school in June, raced in the Summer Legends Shootout in Charlotte, relocated to the Mooresville, NC area and started college.

"Its been a great year and I am really looking forward to the Nationals event," Austin Reed said. "Events like these take a lot of luck just because there are so many competitors but I feel we are going to do really well. Plus racing with my dad is going to be a blast."

Austin Reed has already qualified for the Pro race based on his third place point's finish in the state of California while Dave Reed will have to race his way into the Master's division final.

Austin also qualified for the prestigious Race of Champions based on his performance this season and will compete in a special 20-lap event Friday night showcasing the nation's top racing talent.

Dave Reed has prepared for the race by competing in a few preliminary races in North Carolina. "I do not get the opportunity to drive much but spending time with Austin and racing is what it is all about," Dave Reed offered.

Since the event is held in suburban Atlanta, Dave Reed Racing will showcase Trenton Systems on both cars. Trenton Systems, based in Gainesville, GA about an hour and a half north of Atlanta, is one of the last U.S. based manufactures of circuit boards and integrated computer systems and has become the global leader in their industry. The company also has a facility in Utica, NY where they employee over 100 people.

Dave Reed Racing competes in cars prepared by Beattie Racing in North Carolina. Beattie Racing will have six drivers competing in several divisions at the USLCI Nationals including lead driver Kyle Beattie.
