New Contest Provides Forum to Share Your Memories With The Opportunity to Help Write Your Own Memoir

Nov. 2, 2012 - PRLog -- Everyone has a story they’d like to share – a special memory etched in time that may have shaped your life or the lives of those you love.  Now, Home Instead Senior Care is giving people throughout the region the chance to  not only share their special memories with others, but is providing a number of lucky winners with the opportunity to bring their memories to life by helping to create  their very own personal memoirs.

To highlight the importance of sharing memories throughout all stages of our lives, Home Instead has just launched “Thanks for the Memories” – a Facebook contest to encourage people to share their special memories online, with the potential of winning a personalized session with memoir-writing expert and published author Marcia Rosen.  Rosen, the author of My Memoir Workbook, is a literary agent for self-published authors and has been an advisor and consultant to writers of memoirs, fiction and non-fiction books for the past fifteen years, working with authors on concept development, structure and editing.  

Four winners of the “Thanks for the Memories” Facebook contest will receive a copy of My Memoir Workbook, which will provide them with a step-by-step guide to writing their life story.  In addition, the entry with the most votes will also receive a personalized, 30 minute “Life Writing” phone session with Rosen – where she will help in concept development and provide her insight into how to turn the vision of writing a memoir into a reality.

The Home Instead Senior Care “Thanks for the Memories” Contest is open to all residents over the age of 18 in the Greater Albuquerque Region.  Those interested in submitting their memory for consideration are being asked to submit a picture and thoughtful caption describing the story behind the photo of their most cherished memory through Home Instead Senior Care’s Facebook Fan page.  Further information is available online at www.homeinstead.com/144 or www.facebook.com/HomeInsteadSeniorCareNM.

The contest officially begins on November  5th 2012, with entries being accepted until December 30th.  Voting is open until January 5th 2013.  The winning memories will be determined by the photos that receive the most votes and will be selected by January 15th 2013.
