Editors Nancy and Biff Barnes of Stories To Tell will offer free consultations to authors at the Miami Book Fair International Street Fair in Miami, Florida, November 16-18.
Authors are bypassing traditional publishing and self-publishing books in record numbers. These DIY writers must learn how to edit and format their manuscripts, how to hire a book designer, and how to sell their books online.
“Bring us your draft manuscript, finished or unfinished,” says Nancy Barnes. “We’ll help you get it into print.”
The Book Fair, one of the largest in the world, features 350 authors and 250 publishers, booksellers and other book related exhibitors, runs from 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. Friday through Sunday on the Miami Dade College Wolfson Campus. Friday admission is free. Saturday and Sunday admission is $8 for adults, $5 for seniors 62 or over and children 13-18, and free for children under 13. .
Stories To Tell, an author services firm founded by Barnes, provides manuscript evaluation, editing, book design and publishing consulting services to authors seeking either limited or commercial distribution for their books.
“Not all publishers or printers are the same,” said Barnes. “We help authors choose the best publisher for their books, so that they don’t pay for services they don’t need. We also help them prepare their manuscript for submission and make sure their files will meet the publisher’s specifications.”
