Nov. 23, 2012 - PRLog -- Seventy-five years ago in a remote corner of Northwest England Kangol was born. Founder Jacques Spreiregen created the name by combining the K from knitting, the ANG from angora, and the OL from wool as the company specialised in knitted hats made from these yarns. To celebrate the 75th anniversary Kangol has introduced a special collection of styles representing different eras and featuring heritage styling
details such as the original Knitting Needle. The style numbers represent the year each shape was invented: The Spitfire 1938; The 504 Cap 1954: The Casual 1983: and The 575 cap 2013. Each style is available inluxurious summer weight worsted wool, traditionally used in fine suiting material.
Kangol was born in England but raised in the streets of New York in the 80’s. As a salute to the brands heritage Kangol have hats made in both England and America. The luxurious UK styles feature fine Irish Linen in sophisticated and subtle patterns. The range, which consists of 3 styles Ripley, Peebles and Spey, is
made in a small boutique factory in Yorkshire, England using heritage techniques and expertise. All fabrics are cut by hand, which enables perfect pattern matching.
For the first time ever Kangol are proud to introduce ‘The Championship Series’, designed and developed to attract sports fans who prefer to represent their team colours in a more stylish manner. There are four different Flexfit shapes available all finished with the new crossed bats embroidered logo.
Staying true to their collaborative spirit, Kangol have partnered with legendary actor and golfer Samuel L Jackson on an exciting new golf collection. A custom Kangol golf diamond woven label featuring Samuel L Jackson has been added to iconic Kangol shapes. The range combines the refined design aesthetic of golfs’ gloried past with the ultra-mordern P2i performance treatment. P2i is a revolutionary ionmask technology, which causes any liquid that comes into contact with it to bead up and simple roll off. Remarkably, it has zero effect on how the hat looks or feels.
