By: Ayrsley Town Rehab “Ayrsley, and those associated with Ayrsley are doing something really special here. We are excited by the great efforts members of our community have displayed and are especially excited about this weekend,” says Chris Stulginsky, Physical Therapist and Managing Partner of Ayrsley Town Rehabilitation. On Saturday, Sporslink, whose office is located on Ayrsley Town Blvd is hosting the Snowflake Tree Shake 5K at Renaissance Park off of Tyvola Rd where the entry fee will be either $10.00 or a donated toy. Registration starts at 8:30 AM, Awards will be given wards will go to top 2 Males and Females in each age group AND overall Male & Female. The Age Groups: 15-19, 20-24, 25-29, 30-34, 35-39, & 40+. For more information, please go to: http://www.sportslinkus.com/ Additionally on Saturday, The Old Mecklenburg Brewery (215 Southside Drive Charlotte, NC 28217) will be lighting their Christmas tree at 6:00pm. Any toy donated in their tap room will come with a complementary pint of beer. The Tap Room open for donations at 12 N and will extend into their evening. “This drive brings Ayrsley together each year in an amazing way. It’s rewarding to see what can happen when people come together, communicate and are on the same page in an effort to bring some joy to kids in need this Holiday season; it feels good to be a part of something like this,” says Stulginsky. Fintastic is donating $1 to a local charity for every toy donated in their store. Harry’s is offering 10% off a meal ticket with a toy donation. Stulginsky himself has experienced how the “urban dance” in a tight knit community helps the cause. A conversation about ATR’s Concussion Management program with a patient directed the company’s donation this year. After he spoke with a particular patient he was linked to another Ayrsley neighbor who was has ownership in a cycling store. Ayrsley Town Rehab was able to purchase $500 dollars’ worth of helmets at cost. “Cycling accounts for 10,000 more concussions per year then soccer and football combined in the under 14 population, providing helmets helps to address this crisis.” End
