TransActive Releases New Video

Dec. 6, 2012 - PRLog -- As part of "Transgender Youth Awareness Month" activities in the State of Oregon, TransActive Education & Advocacy ("TransActive") has released a new video that provides an overview of how public awareness of trans* child and youth issues (particularly in relation to early recognition and intervention) has developed over the past 20-years.

"TransActive: A True Story" includes both audio and video clips from early talk-show coverage of trans youth (as opposed to the extensive coverage given to late-transitioning adults) and the role Jenn Burleton (herself a woman of transgender experience) played in expanding public awareness and discussion of trans* identity in children and youth through her seminal founding roles in organizations such as Trans Kids PAC, TYFA (Past President and Executive Director) and for the past 6 years serving as Executive Director of TransActive.
