More and more people are wearing Polo Shirts, or sports Shirts to work these days, dumping the more formal dress-shirt and tie custom.

Except for the highest echelons of higher business or law firms, men and women are going with sharp looking Polo Shirts, sometimes called golf shirts.  People find this shirt style relaxing to wear, comfortable, and it doesn't require expensive dry cleaning or care. The market place has clearly relaxed its formal dress practices to fit a more realistic world.  Many Factory plant managers, owners, and their employees are now wearing the same style of Polo Shirt for work they wear on the golf course.  

The approach to a more casual work dress is far less expensive as well and it seems that women employees often favor the Polo Shirt.  Manufacturers of these shirts have gone out of their way to produce this shirt style to fit a women’s figure.  

Plus, this seeming casual practice allows many companies to have their employees wearing a comfortable relaxed shirt with a ‘logo’, a continuance of their advertising reach. It’s an additional means for displaying that all important ‘Brand’ and any other trademark needing exposure at any level of business. Another important reason for the expanded use of the polo shirt is the concern for safety, especially in any facility or environment with machinery.

However, there is a definite difference in the qualities available for wear.  There are the inexpensive and cut-rate poorly foreign-made Polo Shirts that clearly expose their inferior quality with little wear and use.These shirts are mostly made in China, or some other Asian factory dump that pay their workers next to nothing and use canes to ‘correct’ a worker’s attitude. These shirts possess a loose weave and stingy thread count on purpose.

They are constructed to fall apart for the wearer so that a replacement purchase must follow soon.   Retailers, who market these foreign shirts or sell them in major discount stores, often request the foreign maker to reduce the weave, use a poor grade of cotton, reduce the stitch count, and use less buttons.   After little use and few washes, these shirts hang on the body like a limp rag and often develop holes where there should not be any. Unfortunately, these discounted second-rate foreign shirts are in plenty with most apparel jobbers who pawn off this substandard shirt to anyone they can fool into accepting. Major Discount Retail Chain Stores regrettably offer the same poor quality polo shirt using ‘low price’ to fool customers into buying. Alas even the moths ignore these foreign made rags.

Unquestionably, the best appearance and trusted quality does come from a Polo Shirt made in the United States.  The USA Made Polo or Golf Shirt as it is sometimes called, has by far a higher quality standard using posh threads, a tighter weave, and far superior cotton or cotton-blend materials. The American Craftsmanship making these Polo Shirts is first-class and superior to anything foreign made.  And the end result is a Polo shirt that is classy in its looks and far more durable, enhancing the image of the wearer and the company it represents.  The American made Polo Shirt may cost a little more, but you clearly get what you pay for.
