ADAMS® Extract & Spice to be Presented Texas Treasure Business Award

Jan. 18, 2013 - PRLog -- Adams® Extract & Spice, the Makers of the World Famous “Adams Best® Vanilla,” will be presented the Texas Treasure Business Award. Adams® Extract & Spice is proud to be celebrating their 125th Birthday this year, with 108 of those years in continuous business in the Great State of Texas!

Adams® is best known for its product Adams Best® Vanilla, created by John Adams in Beeville, Texas in 1905.  The company continued to be a landmark in the Austin community from 1922- 2002. Adams manufacturing facility is currently located in Gonzales, TX with its marketing and media facility located in the Heart of Downtown San Antonio across from the Alamo. Adams® currently employs 150 people throughout the State of Texas.

The "Texas Treasure Business Award" was created under Senate Bill 920, authored by Senator Van de Putte in the 79th Texas Legislative Session. The Award pays tribute to Texas' well-established companies that are more than 50 years old and that have remained committed to Texas for generations by creating jobs and stimulating economic growth. To be eligible, businesses must be involved in the same type of business as when originally founded and have a continuous record of corporate community service involvement.  Businesses receive this award based on initial nominations to their state representative or state senator, and must then be certified by the Texas Historical Commission. Other Texas companies to receive the award since its inception are H.E. Butt Grocery, Whataburger, and Big Red.
