ADAMS® Extract & Spice Charitable Donation to the American Diabetes Association

Jan. 18, 2013 - PRLog -- Adams® Extract & Spice will be committing $15,000 to the American Diabetes Association throughout the year to help support Diabetes education and research.  Each month, a check for $1,250.00 will be presented to an American Diabetes Association Chapter in the State of Texas.  Check presentations will occur in San Antonio, Austin, Dallas, Rio Grande Valley, Houston, Waco, Corpus Christi, Laredo, Midland, Lubbock, The Woodlands, and Lufkin.

The first check will be awarded to the San Antonio Chapter of the American Diabetes Association at Adams® 125th Birthday Celebration in front of the Alamo on January 25, 2013 at Noon.

USDA reports that the average American caloric consumption in the last 20 years has increased over 500 calories a day while the American population has grown an estimated 10.4%. Yet, Spice Industry data suggests that the importing of natural herbs and spices has decreased approximately 3% in the last ten years. Experts believe that salts, sugars, artificial flavorings and oleo resins are replacing the use of spices & herbs.

“Recent studies are showing that the average American is consuming more than the daily recommended amounts of calories, salts, and sugars.
