Miami Metropolitan International Fashion Week Partners With Boys & Girls Clubs of Miami-Dade

Miami Metropolitan International Fashion Week Announces Boys & Girls Clubs of Miami-Dade as Official Charity Partner

Jan. 17, 2013 - PRLog -- As the much-anticipated, second annual Miami Metropolitan International Fashion Week (MMIFW) quickly approaches, the event is pleased to announce its official charity partnership with Boys & Girls Clubs of Miami-Dade, whose mission is to enable all young people to reach their full potential as productive, caring, responsible citizens. MMIFW, a three-day series of events showcasing fashions from local and international designers, which is taking place April 25 – 27, 2013, will donate 15% of sponsorship funds to Boys & Girls Clubs.

“We are incredibly humbled to have the opportunity to help raise money for Boys & Girls Clubs of Miami-Dade,” says Maxine Viktor, co-founder of MMIFW. “The organization’s goals are very much aligned with ours. We each want to positively shape our culture by providing a platform for others to succeed. We are positive that this is the beginning to a long-lasting partnership.”

To kick-off the partnership in style, on Saturday, January 26, 2013 from 6 to 9 p.m., MMIFW will participate in the second annual Jon Jay Celebrity Bowling Challenge presented by FMSbonds held at Lucky Strike Miami Beach. The event, hosted by St. Louis Cardinals outfielder, Miami native and B&GC alum Jon Jay, will feature several MLB stars, bowling, cocktails and hors d’oeuvres. MMIFW models will be on hand to raffle off 10 tickets to its upcoming fashion week. Proceeds from the event will benefit Boys & Girls Clubs of Miami-Dade to support its many positive programs for 10,000 area youth.

“We’re very thankful to Jon Jay and MMIFW for choosing Boys & Girls Clubs of Miami-Dade to receive proceeds from these fun events,” said Alex Rodriguez-Roig, executive director of Boys & Girls Clubs of Miami-Dade. “With the efforts of individuals such as Jon and Maxine, we continue to make a difference in the lives of many area youth.”

Miami Metropolitan International Fashion Week will be held on April 24-27, 2013, at Soho Studios in Miami’s artsy Wynwood neighborhood.  The 2013 MMIFW lineup of swimwear, eveningwear and daywear designers will feature fashion-forward runway shows, performances, sponsors and after parties at upscale Wynwood locations. Designers showing include: Cote d'Or, Adoro Swimwear, Susan Panter, Pista a Jornada, Agragrami Fashion House, A Renee Fashion, Dancing Dolls UK, Yadotsa and The Smooch Boutique, to name a few.
