Feb. 3, 2013 - PRLog -- DETROIT, Mich. - Join BlueWater Technologies, MARS Advertising and Team Detroit as Mobile Monday Detroit explores and discusses the 'New Retail' - choosing and integrating the right technologies and the increasing importance of integrating mobile development within the creative process on February 11th at 5:30 p.m. at Compuware headquarters in Detroit.

Current trends are clear:

• Customers are more empowered, and their expectations of the mobile shopping experience continue to climb

• Shopping has become omnipresent

• Competition exists in new and compelling forms

• Mobility is disrupting the path to purchase

New and innovative mobile solutions can provide personalized shopping experiences that build loyalty, create trust, and transform satisfied customers into advocates. Recent statistics from Deloitte Consulting indicate that mobile devices influence 5.1% of all in-store retail sales, or about $159 billion in transactions - and while the percentage is still small, its growth trend is exceptionally strong.

Those firms who are able to seamlessly integrate mobile into their existing shopping experience will grow their share of both wallet and margin - but the transition for retailers and the marketers/advertising agencies who service them has not been an easy one. A recent article from Fortune / CNN indicates that "Despite the high expectations, retailers are still grappling with how to deal with the shift in consumer behavior. The field is so nascent that it's difficult for companies to know what to do or how to measure success.  Experimentation is common."

Mobile Monday Detroit will present Michigan-based experts to help shorten that learning curve.

Speakers will include:

• Dan Lorenz (Director of Innovation) and Scott Schoeneberger (Experience Architect) of BlueWater Technologies
• Jason Unger (SVP Group Creative Director) of MARS Advertising
• Aaron Smith (VP of Mobile & Tablet) of Team Detroit

Attendance at Mobile Monday Detroit is FREE, but advance registration is required at http://meetup.com/Mobile-Monday-Detroit.
